SPRING/SUMMER LIPS


In the spring and summer my go to lip colours are mainly brights, baby pinks and pale nudes (that don't wash me out). I love my bright colours with a very natural makeup look as I feel they can look very flattering if worn right. I pair my bright lips with a very subtle eye look and simple skin so it is not to over the top. If I want to make it a more formal look, I simply add a bit of gold glitter with a thin winged eyeliner. When I have a nice natural tan, I love wearing peachy pinks or corals as I feel they make my skin glow and look healthy.

So here are my top 10 colours. I have not listed them in any particular order. It is a real range between drugstore and higher end and I hope there is something for everyone.

I like to wear a very simple makeup look and make the lips the statement of the look. On the eyes a pale shimmer and maybe a very thin line of eyeliner. The face makeup dewy looking and very plain. The only thing with the colour is sometimes it can make your teeth look a bit yellow. It is glossy and it can be sheer but can easily be built up.

I like to wear this colour with a neutral eye look and simple face makeup as well. I like it like this as it is a bright colour. It is a nice glossy red that can be built up or just as a rosy tint on the lips or you could wear it sheer with eyeliner. It makes the lips look very moisturised. A bonus is that it makes your teeth look incredibly white.

I love this colour when I want a really bright lip that is moisturising. The finish of it is a satin/matte and it is not drying. I have mine in the 5 year anniversary packaging but they do it in there normal beauty line. They are amazing quality lipsticks and this colour makes my teeth look very white.

The Kate Moss lipstick line from Rimmel,especially the mattes, are some of the best lipsticks and they are not even that expensive. 110 is my go to summer lipstick and the matte finish is amazing as well as not being drying. It is a really flattering colour. I like all 3 that I own, one of them being 107 which is my autumn/winter red, it is because of how long they last and the incredible formulation. (I need to pick a new one up soon oops!)

I will always be a fan of Mac as a brand I do like their products. I have a few lipsticks (12 to be exact) but they are one thing I love because of the formula's of them. Lovelorn is a bubblegum pink with blue undertones. It is a lustre so it is glossy and is not completely sheer. I like wearing it with gold/bronze eye looks.

I love this bright bold colour. I know that it is a retro matte and  people sometimes find them drying but I like them.I have this one and Ruby Woo a big favourite of mine. I make them less drying by putting on a waxy lip balm at the begging of my makeup and they are then less drying. Once you have them on though they do not budge for ages and stay flawless. To get a neat finish I first apply it with a lip brush then from the bullet. I like to wear it in the day with a thin winged eyeliner and gold, bronze or copper eye look.

I really love this colour especially with a tan as it makes your skin glow and look really healthy. It is a cremesheen so it feels moisturising and is very natural and sheer. It looks nice with a nice winged eyeliner and a gold eye again or a smokey eye.

This is the last MAC lipsticks in my top 10 for spring/summer. I have a few other ones which I love in spring/summer but they just missed a place in the top 10. This was my first MAC lipstick and it is one of my favourites when I have a tan and when I want a lipstick for any makeup look. I feel it will go with any skin tone and it is so moisturising.

SEXY SIENNA (MATTE)

I love my 3 Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks I own and one of them is Glastonberry, which is autumn/winter so it wouldn't be the best for this post but my other 2 are suitable. I love Sexy Sienna because the formula is a matte but so creamy and velvety and the colour is something I haven't seen before. It is a nude orange with pink undertones and it looks so nice with a tan and a smokey eye. The colour also goes with so much. I also want to point out that for a copper/rose gold fan the packaging is so appealing as well!

This lipstick is fairly new to my collection but I love it. It is so nice and the quality is amazing again. They are totally worth the price and I totally recommend them. They do a matte collection and a collection called K.I.S.S.I.N.G which is glossy lipsticks. This colour is perfect for a shimmery eye look and a pinky blush with gold undertones in. If you want a more sheer colour you could apply a layer with a lip brush as these lipsticks are so build able.

So who am I?

Well, I am a girl who is obsessed with everything beauty, fashion and life. My full name is Madelaine,but I am known as maddiefor short.Beauty,Fashion and life have always interested me. I love giving  advice out to family and  friends and defiantly always willing to talk about make up and sharing any tips. I loving recommending products as well as helping people out. 

I've loved makeup for about 2 years now and my collection is growing rapidly and I invest a lot into my makeup. I started withthe basic items in Boots and Superdrug and have gradually move dup to the higher end products, I do still love good products from Boots and Superdrug but sometimes I love to indulge in Cha-rlotte Tilbury on something like one of the gorgeous lipsticks

I recently decided as a birthday present that I would like to  expand by eye brushes so I asked for the Zoeva Rose gold eye   set. They have improved my makeup so much. One other thing ab- out myself is that I have a love for all things copper and rose gold.
